Brooklyn Mirage will not open for the 2025 season. The news was shared on the venue’s official Instagram page, where its parent company, Avant Gardner, confirmed that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This legal process allows a company to reorganize its finances and operations while continuing to operate.
The newly renovated Mirage, which many fans were excited to experience this year, will remain closed. Several shows that were originally planned for the Mirage are being relocated to other spaces within the Avant Gardner complex, including the Great Hall and Kings Hall. Both venues will remain open and continue hosting events.
Chapter 11 does not mean the business is shutting down. Instead, it gives companies a way to fix financial issues and stay active while creating a plan to recover.
Avant Gardner has already secured funding from its existing lender and is working on a restructuring plan that includes selling some assets. Newly appointed CEO Gary Richards (also known as Destructo) says the focus is on rebuilding the company’s foundation and bringing Mirage back in 2026.
“This restructuring is the most viable path forward,” Richards said. “It will allow us to stabilize Avant Gardner and focus on building for the future.”
For now, fans of the Mirage will have to wait. But if the plan succeeds, the venue could return stronger than ever next year.
