Serato DJ is now available on iPhone and iPad for the first time. The new iOS release brings a mobile version of Serato's DJ software to Apple devices, with free and paid options now live on the App Store.
According to the launch report, the app includes many of Serato's main mixing tools on mobile, including stem separation, built-in effects, EQ controls, key sync and cue points. It also supports streaming services including Spotify and Apple Music, and lets users record sets directly inside the app.
Serato says the iOS version works with more than 120 hardware setups across controllers, mixers, turntables and DVS setups. DJs can also move Serato DJ Pro or Lite 5.0 libraries onto an iPhone or iPad either wirelessly or over USB-C, while keeping cue points, beatgrids and metadata.
The mobile launch lands alongside the full release of Serato DJ 5.0 for desktop, after that version entered public beta in September. Serato's Lucid Beatgrids feature is included here too, so the iPhone and iPad app also carries over the beatgrid system introduced with the 5.0 rollout.
Pricing starts with a free version, while many features sit behind the paid tier. A full licence costs $149, or users can get the app as part of the full Serato suite for $14.99 per month.
The release gives Serato a proper iOS DJ app years after its simpler Pyro app, which focused on automated mixing with fewer features. It also follows mobile launches from Algoriddim and rekordbox.
