EXIT Festival has announced that its 25th anniversary edition in 2025 will be the last one to take place in Serbia. The news was shared in a powerful post on the festival’s official Instagram account, where organizers explained that increasing state pressure, loss of funding, and censorship have made it impossible to continue in their home country.
Born in 2000 as a student movement advocating for peace and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans, EXIT grew into one of Europe’s most respected festivals, known for uniting generations through music, creativity, and activism. But the same values that sparked its creation are now at the center of the reason it must leave.
Despite these challenges, EXIT remains defiant. Organizers said that although they are “completely cut off from public funding at all levels of government,” and some sponsors have been forced to withdraw, they refuse to be silenced.
The final EXIT in Serbia will take place from July 10–13, 2025, at its iconic location, Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad. Organizers promised to make this last edition “the most emotional and unforgettable yet.”
“If this truly is the last EXIT at the Fortress, let it be unforgettable. Let it be our strongest yet – a festival remembered not for its end, but for its unity. For love. For freedom!”
As EXIT gets ready to close its chapter in Serbia, fans across the globe are bracing for an unforgettable celebration of everything the festival stands for.
