UMEK says Consumer Recreation is coming back as his sound moves into harder techno again. He did not give a relaunch date, but in a new interview he tied the label's return to the same phase that produced The Last Bow, his four-track release on 1605 from the end of October.
The Slovenian DJ and producer said he has long used different labels to mark different chapters in his music. Before starting 1605 Music Therapy in the late 2000s, he had already run Absence, Expire, Consumer Recreation and Recycled Loops. He later launched 1605 Groove Sector when his sound changed again, and now says Consumer Recreation is the next imprint set to reappear.
The Last Bow is presented in the interview as a faster, past-facing project. The record is described there as a tribute to older times and a clear move away from Void Walker and The DAT. UMEK said he gets bored quickly in the studio and prefers his projects to feel different from one another, even when he hears a thread running through his more recent work.

He also said that much of what he makes now reflects techno's past in some form, rather than trying to invent a clean break from it. For now, the concrete release is The Last Bow on 1605. UMEK has not said when Consumer Recreation will relaunch or what its first new release will be.
